THE STORY BEHIND SOBER CURIOUS RESET

Welcome, I'm glad you're here.

This is the real story - not the polished version, not the highlight reel. Just what actually happened, and why this space exists because of it.

Maybe it was never really about the wine.

I know what it feels like to hold everything together on the outside while something quietly falls apart underneath.

For over two decades I've been working in advertising, producing global campaigns, travelling the world and living the culture that came with it. The industry ran on connection, and connection ran on alcohol. From the outside my life looked like everything it was supposed to be. Inside I was flat, foggy and completely lost.

Alcohol was part of the industry, and it was part of my identity. I didn't know where one ended and the other began.

I stopped drinking at 36, almost 7 years ago. Not because of a dramatic rock bottom. Not because of a hospital or a public disaster. Just a morning where I woke up and knew, finally, that I couldn't keep living like this.

But stopping wasn't the freedom I expected. For years afterwards I was still performing. Still searching. Still trying to work out who I actually was underneath it all - I'd just swapped one mask for another. Controlled instead of chaotic.

Disciplined instead of out of control. Still not quite me, just sober.

The shift came when someone asked me a question that stopped me completely:

What's the mask you're wearing? And what is it costing you?

That question changed everything.

I created Sober Curious Reset because this space didn't exist when I needed it. Not a clinical program. Not a detox. Just a safe, honest place for women who are quietly questioning and ready to look at what's underneath.

This is a peer-led space based on lived experience. It is not therapy or medical treatment. If you're experiencing alcohol dependency or need clinical support, we encourage you to seek help from a qualified professional.

WHERE THINGS ARE NOW

hey, I'm Susannah.

Seven years sober. Three kids. A career I love. And a deep belief that the most powerful thing a woman can do is stop and actually listen to herself.

What started as a four-week group experience has grown into something bigger. Sober Curious Reset now includes the Reset itself - a small, honest online group for women ready to pause and get curious - and The Coming Home Retreat, an in-person experience in the Byron Bay hinterland for women ready to go even deeper, together.

I'm not a therapist or a clinician. I'm someone who has lived this. I create spaces where women can finally say the real thing - not the polished version, not what they think they should say. The actual truth they've been quietly carrying.

Women leave feeling seen in a way they haven't in a long time.

I believe you don't need a label to deserve support. I believe the real work happens underneath the drinking, not just around it.

And I believe it's possible to come back to yourself - even when it feels very far away.

I built this for the woman I used to be. I can't wait to meet you inside.

7 years of lived sobriety. Trained in Motivational Interviewing, an evidence-based approach that supports meaningful change. As featured in Mamamia, Daily Mail Australia, the Daily Telegraph, the Ariise podcast with Zoe Marshall, and Healthy Her podcast.

HOW I HOLD THIS WORK

Small groups. Real honesty.

I keep every group intentionally small. Not because it's easier - because it's the only way the honesty actually works. The moment groups get too big, something is lost.

Here's what you can expect from working with me:

  • A peer-led space grounded in lived experience, not clinical distance

  • Small, intimate groups - never scaled at the cost of safety

  • No labels, no rock bottom required, no pressure to perform
